PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Insight Graphic Studio - Sr. Freelance Graphic Designer
(February 2009 – Present)
I provide direction for print and web solutions for a variety
of clients, including: logos, identity packages, e-mail
blasts, PowerPoint template design, web banners, posters,
direct-mail, magazine design, ad design, media-kits, event
programs, newsletters, catalogs, book covers, and small web
design projects. I communicate and coordinate with outside
vendors for printing and production of completed projects.
Through collaborating one-on-one with the client, I have
gained valuable experience interpreting an idea and vision to
produce a product within the set deadline.
T.A. Cook Consultants, Inc. - Graphic Designer and
Marketing Coordinator
(August 2010 – March 2013)
Successfully research and design all print and web marketing
campaigns for a fast-paced, international corporate event
production company. I work with writers and editors to design
print and online brochures, sell sheets, advertisements, floor
banners, floor plans/info graphics, signage, white papers,
web ad banners, custom presentations, and email marketing.
I review and prioritize incoming projects, meet tight deadlines,
preflight and troubleshoot press ready files. I keep the US
office’s website current through a content management
system. As the marketing coordinator for all US events,
I conduct research for marketing resources, use social media
avenues, and implement campaigns in accordance to budget.
I monitor all ROI statistics to ensure best practices while
keeping organized and thorough records.
S&A Cherokee - Graphic Designer
(April 2008 – July 2009)
All aspects of print design for a public relations firm and
publishing house for four state-wide publications.
I was responsible for working with the senior editor and
production manger to create feature article page layouts
for areas of interest including travel, shopping, real estate,
food and wine, etc. These publications include Cary
Magazine, Triangle East Magazine, N.C. Magazine and
SubPrime Auto Finance News. While working closely with
the photographers, I learned a great deal about photo
retouching and proper use of Photoshop. I also designed
the promotional items for N.C. State University’s Nutrition
program, as well as other clients such as: N.C. Chamber,
Town of Garner, Farm Bureau, Cary Rotary Club, and Band
Together. I was later asked to assist the web developers in
producing the magazines for online use where I learned a
lot about user experience.
C.R.I. Designs - Graphic and Web Designer
(December 2006 – April 2008)
Collaborating with a team on research, design and
maintenance for approximately 20 websites. I arranged
one-on-one contact with the client to produce an accurate
price quote before beginning the project. I had regular
calls with the client to provide updates on the status of their
projects and conveyed client requests and edits. I learned
clean, basic HTML code to produce an efficient working
website as well as gain an understanding of the basics of
digital production.
