I am currently employed as a senior space industry analyst, but I also do graphic design, illustration, and fine art as needed for our clients, which include commercial and government aerospace organizations. I can produce anything from infographics to original paintings using digital (Photoshop and Corel Painter) to traditional (pencil, marker, acrylic, and oil). For digital work, I prefer to sketch the composition in pencil, scan it, then paint over it using no more than two layers. I also build scale models for clients now and then using plastic, wood, or metal. I've painted murals on interior walls, drawn many portraits, painted nose art for bombers, rendered book covers, and produced graphics for NASA and FAA report content. I have 14 years of space industry experience and over 20 years experience as an artist.
Though I have very recently shifted attention to fine art (oils), I decided it was about time to do some freelance illustration work while still maintaining my "day job" career path. I prefer to work on projects that merge the creative with the rational, the art with the science.
