Personal Statement
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am Donna Wang from Shen Yang China. I studied English at Northeast Normal University from 2005 to 2009, at which point I obtained my degree in English translation. After graduation, I worked as an English teacher in several schools, and often mediated between each school’s foreign English teachers and Chinese management.
I am able to listen, speak, read, and write in English fluently. And because of my outstanding performance in my studies, I was recommended to do translation work for Genpact Company in 2008. I have also passed CET-4, CET-6, TEM-4, and TEM-8, Chinese tests which measure English language competency, with satisfactory scores. What’s more, I earned high scores on the National Mandarin Test, and in 2008, I taught Advanced HSK, a Chinese test for Foreigners, to foreign students. In 2011, I received my Chinese as a foreign language teaching certificate as issued by the International Professional Association (IPA).
After graduating in 2009 I was a teaching assistant at the Tsinghua Children’s English Institute, where the students ranged from 5 to 10 years old. In the same year, I worked as a teaching assistant at Pattison English School in Shen Yang where I helped students to prepare international examinations, such as IELTS, TOEFL and the SAT. From 2010 to 2011, I worked at the ALIFA Sushan English School, and, from November of 2011 to May of 2013, I worked at GuanYa English School. While at these schools I planned lessons, graded homework and exams, and trained other staff members.
.
If I can get the opportunity to work with your company, I will repay you with my best effort. I am available at all times. I hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Donna Wang
