As a Legal Assistant, I worked directly with the senior partner on multiple workers compensation and personal injury defense files, most significantly, defending Bowater, Incorporated, in the 1990 I-75 fog litigation resulting from a 99-car pile-up with multiple fatalities in heavy fog. The case involved extensive direct involvement with adjusters, corporate counsel, and co-counsel. Additionally, the work involved extensive accident report and medical record review, interviewing witnesses, interacting with and ensuring payment of expert witnesses, attending and summarizing technical and standard depositions.
As a Legal Secretary, I worked for three attorneys, answered phones, handled incoming/outgoing mail, kept up with the diary system for the attorneys, did transcription, and other clerical/administrative assignments as assigned.
