Experience

2009-Pres Artist/Designer/Buyer Westport, CT
I currently work in Westport. My responsibilities include purchasing art and accessories and maintaining both fresh and dried seasonal floral arrangements. Completed four commissioned paintings and one large custom sign. In addition, I am maintaining my own online store where I market my own fine art and crafts.

2006-2009 House Manager/Personal Assistant, Bolton, CT
As a self-employed “jack of all trades”, I helped primarily the elderly make simple updates to their home that included deck sealing, interior painting, gardening, organizing and de-cluttering. It often included reusing and repurposing items they already had to keep budgets low. Designed the 2008 Christmas card for NPR and participated in several summer art festivals.

2003-2006 Glazer and Mold Maker, Andersen Design, Boothbay, ME
My primary responsibilities were to remove mold lines from cast items, hand paint items with various layers of glaze and wax and load and unload the kilns. Made plaster molds for production. Developed and implemented a production schedule based on past sales and filled both retail and wholesale orders.

2002-2003 Wax Chaser and Mold Maker, Joseph’s Artworks, Littleton, CO
Made urethane and plaster molds of original artwork and cast them in wax so that they could be produced in bronze. This included removing mold lines and imperfections to the artists’ specifications. I also did some welding, metal finishing and patina prep work.

1997-2002 Owner, Architectural Stonework, Centennial, CO
Managed a custom stone carving business. My responsibilities included writing proposals, purchasing raw materials and equipment, and creating production schedules. Design coordinator for the production of stone, wood and bronze altar pieces for Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Parish in Foxfield, CO. Facilitated the design concepts among architects, artists and church officials for over $100,000 of commissioned artwork.

1995-1997 Wax Chaser and Mold Maker, Joseph’s Artworks, Littleton, CO
Made urethane and plaster molds of original artwork and cast them in wax so that they could be produced in bronze. This included removing mold lines and imperfections to the artists’ specifications. I also did some welding, metal finishing and patina prep work.

1991-1995 Artist/Sculptor, Sculpture: Mountains and Plains, Denver, CO
Sculpted commissioned artworks. This included completing a life-sized bronze for the Thornton Woman’s Club that stands in front of Thornton City Hall in Colorado.

1990-1991 Cake Decorator, Cakes by Karen, Northglenn, CO
Decorated cakes for a wide variety of occasions.
