I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Filmmaking from York, but since then I've focused primarily on creative writing. I'm finishing my first novel soon, have many short stories, and exponentially more poems. I write fiction with a philosophical tinge, and in a very relaxed, stream of consciousness way. My stuff is very visceral and comedic, and can range from disturbing to uplifting. My influences include Irvine Welsh, Bukowski, Hunter S. Thompson and Camus. I haven't went to any publishers yet, but expect to take the plunge soon.
As for photography and videography they are both still great passions for me. I've done several wedding videos, and also photographed a few. But normally it's just for fun: experimental videos, videos of hanging out, travel pictures, nature pictures, etc. In film school everyone would encourage me to stay behind the camera no matter what. I have a very good eye. I'm more of a point and shooter (technologically speaking) these days, but there is a certain style and vision I have, that requires me to take care and bring out my perfectionist side when setting up each shot. I can make almost any subject appear dynamic and captivating, of course it begs the question: will I want to?
