Served with the 214 Fires Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, and Multinational Division in support of the women’s issues, disease prevention, teaching them basic family and consumer sciences to better care for themselves, their infants, and their families and to be equipped with the struggles while trying to manage family and work in today’s society.
Welcomed and greeted local national customers at the local hospital with their health care issues and needs. Assisted them with check- in at the receptionist desk, their vitals’ were taken, and while they had to see the medical staff on duty. Special attention given to young children who came in with multiple burns to their body, comforting them and their parent’s as much as possible while the medical staff attended to them.
Served with the Headquarter and headquarters company with the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment in East Rasheed District, Baghdad. Provided service and supported the squadron’s effort to bring peace to the Southeast Rasheed area of Baghdad. Worked directly for the Squadron S5, coordinated reconciliation meetings with local sheiks and wise men, tribe leaders and encouraged them to participate in dialogues, put all their differences on the table and communicate and exchange words rather than fire and bullets. Translated documents, answered phones, and answered the squadron Tip-Line, passing vital intelligence to the S2 for analysis. Assisted and participated in numerous micro-grant workshops and Iraqi Police recruiting drives. Also supported and participated the different Infrastructure Engineer meetings between local government entities and the Coalition Forces. Reviewing repairs, new construction, and bids to different electric stations, water treatment facilities, and oil sites throughout the area.
Support the Headquarters, Task Force 3-66 Armor while directly working with the Lieutenant Colonel in local meetings with the local village representatives. Walking through the villages gathering information and evidence from the villagers in regard to the terrorist activities and the people involved in them. Emphasizing and making them aware of the importance of the situation and in helping the Coalition forces in order to bring peace to their areas. Bringing basic services to local villages and surrounding areas, humanitarian aid, and educating them, and providing school supplies to the local schools.
I also organized two drives where I had the principal of the school I was working at in Arizona, coordinate, collect, and ship school supplies, clothing items and shoes to the young needy Iraqi children while I was still working in Iraq.
