At the Chronicle, I helped redesign the Neighborhood News section’s design and news content that resulted in a higher reader subscription. We had more of mix of hard news and features that was targeted for a specific audience and earned a higher page count and Web hits.

Houston Chronicle 1990-2012
Senior copy editor 2011-2012 - Promoted to the universal copy desk. While on the night copy desk, met daily deadlines while editing stories for the Chronicle’s A and City and State sections and edited sports copy for the daily sports copy desk, including the Sunday section.
Assistant Manager, Neighborhood News 2004-2011 - Promoted to assistant manager of Neighborhood News and supervised a news team of editors and copy editors for 18 weekly section publications. Responsible for coordinating news coverage, assigning and editing stories. Served as a layout editor and managed a weekly story budget.
Regional editor, Neighborhood News 1990-2004 - Responsible for content of multiple weekly publications in the four-county area of coverage for greater Houston; assigned stories, worked with reporters and freelance writers; responsible for layout of front and inside pages for multiple weekly section publications. Also responsible for posting stories and photos for the Ultimate neighborhood section of the paper.
