I have always loved words.
I am a retired sixty-four year old female who recently moved to Sun City, AZ from the Houston, TX area with my husband.I am a published writer. For my most recent writing job, I was as a correspondent for "The Tribune", a community newspaper in Humble, TX. I was assigned to cover civil and political events, human interest stories and a myriad of other news-worthy topics.
Some time ago, one of the stories I wrote: "Old Dog, New Tricks" was included in a book titled "Changing Courses", a compilation of stories written by my peers, dealing with women's life style changes during menopause.
I have won several non-professional writing contests and have been rewarded with both prizes and monetary compensation. During a college writing course, I wrote a humorous essay that my professor chose as a guide to proper writing style. That story was reprinted and used in a required study guide for her future pupils.
I feel that I am a very proficient writer. I find writing to be an extremely enjoyable vehicle for expressing myself.
