A born passion for art and design, I am pursuing my degree in
Graphic Communications with an emphasis in digital design and production. I have always enjoyed the art side of the spectrum and knew that a career in creating and inspiring others through my designs is what I wanted to do. I will be graduating with my 4 year Bachelors degree in May of 2013.
I was approached, over the past year of 2011 and 2012, with a few opportunities to do a couple freelance graphic design jobs. After completing the task of branding the companies with logo designs, layout of identity system, website completion, brochures, and large advertising designs all companies were extremely satisfied with the outcome of my work and they hired me on as part of the team. I was also blessed with the opportunity to be part of Tim Duncan Events team, based out of Atlanta. I was hired on as an intern responsible for all of the graphic design work. Our company does photography and event planning for glamour weddings and luxury events. I love what I do! The only change I would make is to be able to work in the studio with other designers and then eventually be able to work from home.
I work hard in a team, but I like to think I grow when I’m doing something I love. I have big ideas, followed by countless dreams. I am always looking for a way to make them come true. I chose MSUM as my education because of all the great reviews I had heard about its graphics programs, mostly from former students. The professors are passionate about what they do and want nothing but to see their students succeed. In my time at MSUM I have learned that working in a team is important for creative inspiration as well as leadership growth; having that platform to play ideas off of other designers provides a foundation for which I can push myself, and others, to our greatest potential.
I sincerely believe that I take a positive and enthusiastic approach in all my work. Dedicated, driven, and detail orientated are just a few of the characteristics I portray when taking on a new challenge. Each project I take on is engaged with professionalism to allow my creativity and passion to be expressed. I like to think that the consistent quality of the work displayed throughout my portfolio demonstrates the potential of any team with me as a member; my ability for time management is something that I am very proud of. In five years I would like to think I have gotten the experience of working in a firm with other designers, preferably in the fashion industry. I plan on working my way to the top of the corporate ladder by proving I have what it takes to be amazing. I would eventually like to start my own business with the privilege of having other inspiring designers working for me. I want to be able to provide for my family as mine parents have done for me.
