Hi there. My name's Jonathan Walker. I'm a second year student at Staffordshire University studying script writing. During my time on the course, I've learnt what makes for a good story which will keep the audiences engaged from start to finish. I've also been fortunate enough to have met and interviewed Richard Curtis (the writer of Love Actually, Bridget Jones's Diary, and many more classics) who further helped my understanding of the art of writing. When writing, I like to challenge myself by working with different genres as well as having a go at feature length films alongside shows for TV; by doing this, my aim is to make myself more flexible, therefore I'm happy to take on any genre presented to me. I have a lot of motivation when it comes to writing, allowing for high quality, fairly quick first drafts.
As well as scriptwriting, I've had training with the Sony NX70 camera and will soon be undertaking a training course for Adobe Premiere for editing. With this training, I've acted as producer, cameraman and contributed towards both the plot and editing (on Final Cut Pro) for a short film found in my portfolio. More films are planned over the next year.
I also have experience at writing articles for magazines having had to create a magazine for an assignment. Also, I've created many posters, both for the magazine and other projects .
As I wish to pursue a career in these fields, I'm not necessarily doing it for the money just yet, but rather for the exposure, to get my name out there. Therefore, I'm happy to take on certain projects for a very small price or even do it for free, so long as I'm credited for the work.
If you have any questions or queries, or even just want to sample some of my work before consideration, feel free to get in touch. Thanks for reading, hope you have a great day!
