Trained as a keeper and became head of the reptile house. Worked with over 400 species from spiders to elephants but specialized in reptiles. I have a particular interest in crocodilians.

Further information
I have written five books and contributed to man newsstand magazines. I have led ten international zoological expeditions. I have contributed to many television and radio programmes. I have lectured at a number of museums and societies including the Natural History Museum, the Grant Museum of Zoology and Queen Mary, University of London. I am currently involved in writing scripts for submission to the BBC and theatrical scripts.
