Having just relocated to Southend on Sea, I am finding my feet in the Southeast, I have become a member of Studio 11, an Arts cooperative Gallery, and hope to set up a new life drawing day, possibly at the TAP Studios also in Southend. I enjoy organising and logistics and am having a great time refitting and reorganising the house (money pit) – we have moved into! Fundamentally my passion is Art –: sculptural ceramics, woodcarving, and printmaking, painting: oil and watercolour; I am rarely without a sketchbook and camera. I enjoy sharing my creative practice and have a broad experience of working with people aged 4-80 in classroom and community teaching environments. I have a studio at home – a base to work in, well equipped with a small kiln, printing press and workbenches. My second passion is food – I have worked in commercial kitchens on and off since I was 14, I am organised, a good team player, have initiative and have worked in a big spectrum of different environments. Travel is a passion; in the last year I have visited friends and family in Barcelona, Rotterdam and the Channel Islands as well as adventuring in the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt. I love adventure and I am a regular museum and gallery visitor: I spent three months travelling in Australia, New Zealand Fiji and Central America over the winter 2006 – 7 and had opportunity to visit many substantial art collections, travel is a bug I can’t shake off. I was also involved in fundraising for, and the construction of, a forty-five foot flower covered carnival float for the Trinity Battle of Flowers Association in Jersey: fantastic sculpture on a large scale! Walking, swimming, cooking and gardening are also passions; eating food I’ve grown is a real joy – I have just gained a 10 rod plot at the Hampstel Road Allotments and am already planning the food my partner and I are going to grow.
