With over 30 years of experience in every facet of the giftware industry, I am the sole proprietor of Rubel and
Associates, a consulting firm on designs, development, sourcing, manufacturing and importing. I offered my expertise in
incorporating attractive design/illustration with solid marking principles to deliver a profitable program from concept
to completion and have been sourcing and working months at a time in the Orient for some 25 years Above all, however,
I am a talented and proven giftware artist and creator of literally thousands of designs that have been turned into
every imaginable form of collectible. I have been given high awards for my displays and trade booth designs, as well as
my corporate logo concepts.
Since 1979, I also served as a freelance artist for numerous gift companies. I am the creator of Silver Deer’s
enormously successful Christmas Animals series. Among the other companies I have created for:

Upon my college graduation, I developed creative skills at various advertising agencies in Chicago and subsequently
took a position with Georgia Pacific Corp. As Art Director. My next move brought me to Ero Industries as Corporate Art
Director and eventually as Creative Director for Ero’s new venture, the Lincoln Mint. At the Lincoln Mint, my
responsibilities encompassed all creative functions [medallion and book illustrations] as well as marketing and
advertising. During my tenure at Lincoln Mint, I developed the first single-struck bas-relief plate and worked
personally with world renowned artist Salvador Dali.

I was involved in the development of the Hamilton Mint, a direct mail company which grew in sales from $0 to $20
million in its first 18 months of operation. As Creative Vice President, my direct mail programs won several awards as
well as my illustrations and one program became the first program ever authorized by the National Gallery of Art in
Washington, DC.
As Creative Director for Roman, Inc., I was responsible for product design and development both here and overseas as
well as the creation of product illustration etc. Primarily a manufacturer and importer of religious articles, Roman
developed a gift division which became a major force in the industry with my direction.

At Nanco Inc., I designed major programs for the souvenir and amusement industry. Many of these generated the largest
sales in company history. I was later named Division Manager of the gift division with responsibilities which included
budget administration, advertising and product development and overseas sourcing.

I began my own company in 1993 creating giftware and home accessories which in only 21 months sales were 4 million,
the products were Retired Pearl Angels, Heavenly Angels, Happy Habits, a doll line that was on TV shoppers and a
extensive Christmas line.It flourished to over 14 million. I since moved to Florida and operate Rubel and Associates
freelance and fine art painting, fanasy art and book illustrations plus go to the Orient often for clients. I handle many retail store consulting.
I completed 16 years of schooling and a honor graduate of the American Academy of Art in Chicago, and have over 35
years in the industry. I have a very good working relationship with many manufactures in the Orient.
