After obtaining a degree in video production/graphic design, I started working as an independent contractor for a wedding company, as well as a high school sports company. Filming, editing, and uploading videos to the companies websites. After gaining experience with these companies, I purchased all the equipment needed to start an independent production company. Jon Achelpohl is an artist living and working in Raleigh, North Carolina. Originally from central Illinois, Jon found his voice as an artist in Chicago where he studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the areas of painting, drawing, and illustration. His work has been shown around Chicago and the Triangle and Triad region of North Carolina. His work pulls from the visual language of comic books, pulp illustration, politics, abstract expressionism, Mexican muralist movement, street art, and graffiti.
