It's pretty simple. I love being outdoors and I make art about what I see outside. Raised in suburban Detroit, Michigan, I spent endless hours mucking around in the neighborhood pond. Birds, frogs, turtles and snakes provided endless fascination to me. Drawing them expanded the wonder even more and gave me a way to express and share that wonder. To make the outdoors my workplace, I studied environmental science at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Since graduating, I spent long sweaty seasons in the field on wildlife conservation and environmental restoration work in National Parks and other pubic lands of Hawai'i, Seattle and New York City. I got to tag sea turtles, mark snakes, count birds, propagate native plants and survey for mushrooms. Recently, I achieved a Certificate of Natural Science Illustration from the University of Washington Extension Program in Seattle to merge my science and art worlds into a pulsating reverberating sometimes-confused swirl. Nowadays, I spend about equal time in the field and at the drawing table. Field work, mushroom walks and art making form an endless feedback loop. I process what I see, feel and dream of in watercolor, ink, acrylic, silkscreen and sometimes costume. If you see a short wooly mammoth walking down your street, it may be me. Be sure to say hello. I am newly relocated back to the mighty Midwest, this time in Chicago, Illinois. I look forward to exploring the environs of this region and poking around your pond. So if you see me out back, please don't shoot, it's just me.

I am a newlywed 31 year old mother of two. I was married before for ten years, and recieved a Dental Assisting diploma, and also went to school for Dental Hygiene as well. After deciding this was not a field for me, I moved on and decided to pursue a career in the Civil Engineering field. I have worked as a server/bartender for over 5 years now. I love sutomer service, meeting new people, and would love to someday open up a resturant. My days of working in the waitress field ahve given me invaulable people skills and oppurtunities. After my divorce, I have raised both of my children for the last three years alone. Working two and three jobs at a time, and going to school full time, trying to make ends meet. I found my marine corps husband, and we were married in April! We are now located in Cherry Point, NC, and I have a passion for writing, organization, photography, and nature. I would love to help you out, and I am well educated, and well learned in the ways of the world in general. If you need any other information, please feel free to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration.

I am a homeschooling and private school-teaching mother of five with 48 years of life under my belt. I have a B.A. in French and Spanish, '88, from Bowdoin College, and an M.Ed. from Vanderbilt University, '90, in secondary school education with a specialization in French and Spanish. I have taught high school French and Spanish, and elementary and junior high history and writing. I have tutored high schoolers and undergraduates in French, Spanish and study skills, and I have very strong paper-writing, editing and proofreading skills. Besides teaching, I also have experience working for a Palo Alto area non-profit, which involved newsletter editing and producing. I am also a long-time graphic-medium artist (I love to draw with different grades of graphite pencils: mostly animals, people and treed landscapes) and I considered early in college becoming an illustrator. I have been offered monetary compensation for drawings I have done. My great loves (besides my faith) are words, history, learning other languages (I also studied and taught Hebrew for a couple of years), art history and art.
