Star and S.T.R.I.P.E. (22" X18" Cut-paper Sculpture) DC comic characters - the man inside the power-suit is the young girls father - a situation I identify with as the father of a young adult lady....

CHATTACON Program book cover (16"X20") cut-paper sculpture / marbilized /ink drawing. The figure is a treatment of Skyla, central character of the Gun Kingdom books. One of the hidden values of cut-paper work is the fact that you can move them around in a composition - or from one work to another without a computer.

BLACK ALICE (back 3/4 view) private commisssion sculpture. Resin, styrene & paint 6" (h) Alternate view. This piece entailed more than one new challenge - such as getting the fish-net strands right and dealing with all the spikes on the knee pads and wristbands.

UNREQUITED Self-promotional illustration/Cut-paper sculpture 14"x20" A fannish tribute to Stephanie Brown's short tenure as Batgirl. I also wanted to try my hand at depicting a teenager/young adult as opposed to the blonde bombshells that usually grace my work.

TEMPEST IN A "D" CUP page 8 (11"x17") Black line on white paper. Another example of a completed page from an on-going self-promotional project. A true professional is never to old to learn and I have been learning a lot as I have been working on this comic. Style, dialog and composition have all gone through subtle tranformation.

GUN KINGDGOMS 11"x17" Mixed Media (Airbrush/Marker/Paint) Cover for "mage-punk (steam-punk with magic) novel written by R. Scott Taylor and funded through a very successful KickStarter campaign. I made a conscious effort to reproduce the style I used during my "Elvis days" in role-playing game illustration.

Tempest in a "D" Cup- page (11"x17" Pen & Ink ) Example of a pencilled/inked/lettered comic page. I prefer to both pencil and ink rather than give my work up to another artist to finish - however I normally don't "do" lettering. This page was an exception as it was part of a self-promotional piece and I was left with no alternative.

What a great piece! A "Composite Ultraman"!

By the way, did you dream up this Crime Syndicate / Silver Age twist? This piece is just so layered in constuction, meaning, and history...with kind of a double-twist to it. What an inspired (and inspirational) piece!
David R. Deitrick - Over 30 days ago
Yes, I did dream this up. I am a fan of alternate histories, and that extends to comics as well. Exiles on the Marvel side and the latest Booster Gold just before 52.

I bought this piece, and it's my showcase item!
