CHATTACON Program book cover (16"X20") cut-paper sculpture / marbilized /ink drawing. The figure is a treatment of Skyla, central character of the Gun Kingdom books. One of the hidden values of cut-paper work is the fact that you can move them around in a composition - or from one work to another without a computer.

TEMPEST IN A "D" CUP page 8 (11"x17") Black line on white paper. Another example of a completed page from an on-going self-promotional project. A true professional is never to old to learn and I have been learning a lot as I have been working on this comic. Style, dialog and composition have all gone through subtle tranformation.

I prefer to both pencil and ink rather than give my work up to another artist to finish - however I normally don't "do" lettering. This page was an exception as it was part of a self-promotional piece and I was left with no alternative.

By the way, did you dream up this Crime Syndicate / Silver Age twist? This piece is just so layered in constuction, meaning, and history...with kind of a double-twist to it. What an inspired (and inspirational) piece!

"FAITHFUL" (11"x17" acrylic on illustration board) Commissioned by LTC Hank Taylor, commander of the 2/17 Air Cavalry, FT Campbell KY. Reproduced as a limited edition print. The prints were presented to the squadron's wives and sweethearts as a memento for their support during unit deployment to the Middle East. Created as team effort by my wife Lori and I.
