The Static People
My final project in my freshman year of college. A live-action film that took about 5 weeks to produce from start to finish. I collaborated on this project with fellow student Jay Ruzicka. I was primarily in charge of storyboarding, some of the cinematography, and a majority of the editing and special effects.
This film was selected to be part of the 2008 RIT School of Film and Animation Honor's Show.

The Hidden Alphabet
This link leads to the animated trailer I made during the summer of 2010. I interned for Laura Vaccaro Seeger, best-selling and award-winning children's book author, illustrator and animator. I took the art from one of her books, The Hidden Alphabet, and produced a 2D animated trailer for it using Adobe After Effects. All original artwork is by Laura Vaccaro Seeger.

Mallowdrama
My first 3D computer animated film. It was made in my junior year of college and took 20 weeks to produce from start to finish. I was responsible for every aspect of the filmmaking process including story conception, art design, modeling and rigging, animation, lighting and rendering. This film was made using Autodesk Maya.
I wanted the characters, especially the main one, to be simple enough in design for my first attempt at 3D yet have really defined facial expressions and be flexible enough for a wide range of animation.

About Me:
I’m Dan and I am a 3D generalist specializing in modeling and lighting. I have just graduated from New York University with a Master of Science degree in Advanced Digital Applications where I have strengthened my 3D skills and gained new knowledge in areas such as live-action VFX and compositing. I began my education at Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving my undergraduate degree in Film and Animation, where I built a solid foundation in filmmaking principles and traditional and computer animation techniques across the pipeline. I used my accumulated technical skills as well as my strong visual storytelling ability to create a short 3D animated film for my senior thesis, which was selected for the student honor’s show as well as several film festivals. My present goal is to ...
