BRANDING :: WINK was an upscale ***-positive boutique ran by licensed sexologists, faced with the conservative clientele of the midwest. They wanted to create a brand and look that not only spoke to the quality product that they sold (including $1000 vibrators), but the education they provided about *** within their store as well.

UNION STATION SIGNAGE :: Located in the heart of downtown Kansas City, what once was a transportation hub for trains is now a historical building that houses attractions and learning exhibits. This grand structure encompasses 850,000 square feet and originally had 900 rooms - a navigational nightmare. To help visitors get to where they wanted to go, a way-finding system was created. To begin, original icons were hand drawn, then later used for the buildings internal signage, collateral, and directional signage.

SWEET TEA GETAWAYS :: Four southern coastal destinations joined forces to create the annual Sweet Tea Getaways Sweepstakes. Through placements within the magazine Southern Living and online, viewers could learn and submit an entry to win a free trip to Amelia Island, Florida, Charleston, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, or Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. A commonalityity between these destinations was their love for southern sweet tea. Of course, each place has it's own recipe, but all refreshing.

RESTORE BROCHURE :: ReStore Kansas City needed a collateral piece that would help create awareness and also explain what they were: "A circle of giving that helps raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Kansas City - a circle of re-using and recycling materials that would have otherwise been sent to a landfill … and a circle of building our community." Through illustrations this story was told.

THE RENT PARTY :: Community Linc is a non-profit organization that "provides transitional housing for homeless families in the Kansas City area". Every year they host a black tie event, called The Rent Party, to raise funds that go towards their cause. A logo, invitation, donor cards, a program, signage, stage sets, name tags, thank notes were all created. The logo needed to be able to live as is from year to year, but fit within the always changing theme. A simple execution was created and will already be used for the following year's event. Their theme for this particular year was "Home is Where the Heart Is". The event would be showered in hearts, and was all based on the design of this invitation. Illustrative paint brush strokes swarm around iconic sihlouttes of people, musical instruments and food items.

PORTOFINO ISLAND :: Portofino Island was a 5-tower resort and spa located in Pensacola, Florida on the beautiful natural white sand beaches at the end of a peninsula. The previous owners had always focused on the architectural structures of the high-rise towers, something that was becoming mainstream with nearby competition. The new approach was to turn that focus to the natural surroundings - the private beaches, the natural grass, the wildlife that greeted you around every corner - along with the higher level of service the guests would be receiving under the new management - private beach picnics, chefs brought to your room (all were suites with 2 bedrooms, a full kitchen, dining room, living room, balcony) to prepare meals at a time, spa treatments near the water…the list goes on. You became spoiled in an unspoiled environment. Hence the tagline that was developed "Portofino Island. Where only nature goes unspoiled."

DEAD SEA SCROLLS GALA :: Union Station KC was selected to showcase the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit. In order to help fund this amazing collection they hosted a gala a few nights before the grand opening. The theme had a middle eastern flare, as there would be a camel greeting you at the door, Mediterranean cuisine, pillows all over the floor and more. This invitation was created with the theme in mind, and consists of hand drawn and watercolored elements. Programs, signage, and other event pieces were created as well.

COLIN COWIE WEDDINGS :: The famous event planner, Colin Cowie, partnered with the all-inclusive Palace Resorts, in Mexico, to create a series of customized wedding collections for the destination wedding. THE CARIBE ORLANDO :: Composed of 2 hotels, and one convention center, The Caribe Royale was located in Orlando, Florida. New competitors were being built all around with their own convention centers and The Caribe Royale's meeting segment was taking a hit. For them their only differentiating factor was their people - the longevity of their service and dedication that far exceeded the "newbies" next door. A print campaign was composed to feature this factor, and put a spin on the traditional testimonial advertisement. Through photographs of real employees inside the hotel, combined with imaginative illustrations, four new characters came to life. Each represented a different meetings segment and their capabilities.
