Little Red Riding Hood. Originally created as a coloring page, I colored it myself as a personal project and challenge.

Paper dolls of Christopher Chant from Diana Wynne Jones' novel, The Lives of Christopher Chant. These were created for a craft project for a program I was doing at my library, and were a huge hit! I've been thinking about making others for other prominent characters in this book.

A digitally painted self portrait. The subject matter of this painting is mostly true. The actual photo is of 4-year-old me next to an AR-15. My dad had been taking pictures of his guns, and I'd been watching (semi) quietly. For a school project, I edited in part of a photo of a bunch of toys scattered everywhere, and then traced the contours of the photo and painted it, leaving us with the result we see here.

The Bat Family (pre-reboot). From left to right: back row: The Question, Batwoman, Huntress, Catwoman, Robin, Alfred Pennyworth, Batgirl, Red Robin, and Batgirl. Front row: Nightwing, Batman, and Oracle. This was drawn before the introduction of Cassandra Cain's "Black Bat" identity, and I just felt like drawing Dick as Nightwing. All characters belong to DC Comics. I only claim ownership of this particular illustration.

This is the third in a series of four images created for my senior thesis at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design. My thesis was to create a cover and three additional images for a children's book, using an original story or a public domain story. I chose to use Hans Christian Anderson's "The Little Match Girl" as the subject of my thesis. This double page spread shows the little match girl's second vision: a goose dinner all laid out on a table through a brick wall.

This is a self portrait, digitally painted over a photograph someone had taken of me in a coffee shop. I traced the contours of the original image and then painted over the entire photo, mostly only using it as reference to make sure I wasn't pushing anything too far out of proportion.

This is a train graphic I drew for my mother's library at Christmas time. The flag featured her library's name on it, but was removed by me. I own all rights to this image, and would be happy to allow use for your organization for a fee.

This is an image created for a project my senior year at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design for our advertising illustration class. We were tasked with coming up with a mascot for a children's section of a website for a fiction coffee/music/movie/book shop called "Crossroads". I came up with three and tried to illustrate the music/movie/book aspect using the group.

About Me:
I am a professional illustrator with a BFA from the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. My strengths lie in children's illustration and cartooning. My full portfolio can be found at http://brigetkathryn.carbonmade.com, and more "for fun" on the side art can be found on my blog: http://brikit.tumblr.com
I'm always looking for a challenge when it comes to my illustrations, and frequently set myself with high goals, no matter how simple the project may appear to be.
I have a very wide range of skills, and I am always looking for new ways to apply them, as I hope my Freelanced portfolio illustrates!
