This is an example of my freelance design work. This repeat client tipped $20 to $40 extra so I am guessing my work was satisfactory.

Said "My rate per hour listed is my FREELANCE rate only. If a company hires me, I will work for a lot less because the company is shouldering part of those burdens like insurance and they are providing me with steady work. Freelance rates must include those things plus service fees and of course taxes. Add to that the time working versus the time searching for projects, the amount listed pays the bills and supports my son."

Said "I attended ATU for Mechanical Engineering but most of what I know I learned working 23 in Engineering, 11 of which was next to a PHD Mechanical Engineer. I learned a lot about metallurgy, tolerancing, environmental conditions, and most importantly, "The information is already out there and the Engineering is too." For example. If I am putting a seal onto a motor, the company that manufactures the seals list all the engineering requirements for the seals. I just need to abide by them. It is up to me to select the right seal for my application, environment, and manufacturing tolerance capabilities. I have no M-Engineering degree (YET!), in fact I am officially an Engineering Designer and Certified Draftsman who worked in the Mechanical Engineering department for 4 companies. The hot end for my personal 3D printer is my design and I will 3D print and build it to prove all I have learned."
