Creature rank progression for an RTS game universe.
I had the idea in mind that as they age/rise in rank, the black ghostly form will harden like dirt, letting the arkanium escape and return to the land and cycle on.
I enjoy the idea of these things springing up randomly out of whatever's around [in this case, leaves, bark] and just chilling until they disassemble.
