Sketch-Card-A-Day Challenge
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to appear at Cardiff Comic Expo as an artist and exhibitor. While I was getting my first ever Artist Alley table stocked, I decided to give sketch cards a go... Soon I was addicted. They are a brilliant way of practicing pin-ups, developing personal style, learning how to adapt large figures to small panels (perfect for comic book artists in training) and, of course, drawing fan art.

Ink and Digital Colouring: This is a follow up to a print I made especially for CICAE 2012. It is the final Queen in a series of 'face' cards featuring Batman villains and Heroes. I have depicted both classic 60s Cat Woman and the Tim Burton Cat Woman with a slight art nouveau twist on the smoke and back ground.

Digital: This is part of an art challenge my mister and I have set each other. He has assigned me a different piece of fan art to do every week throughout 2012 to keep me practicing. This week's challenge was 'My Neighbor Totoro', one of my favorite Studio Ghibli films. I decided to use the chance to try out a new coloring technique and had a lot of fun doing the balloons.

About Me:
Anastasia is a Freelance Illustrator, Writer and Actress based in Wales, UK. She received a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Royal Holloway, University of London after which she studied Cartoon and Graphic Art at The Kubert School, New Jersey. On returning to the UK she worked as an Editorial Assistant for HarperCollins Publishers as a Freelance Illustrator. Her first book, SuBo’s Cat: The Imaginings of Susan Boyle’s Pampered ***** was published in October 2010 and is now available to buy in all good book stores and even the not so good ones. She now works on freelance illustration projects; including tee shirt, poster and logo design, corporate greeting cards and personal commissions, examples of which can be found HERE.
