Amanda Holiday studied art before moving into film - directing several shorts funded variously by the UK Arts Council, BFI and C4 including the drama ‘Miss Queencake’ – starring Sophie Okonedo and ‘Manao Tupapau’ for BBC /Arts Council – which re-imagines Gauguin’s famous painting. Her feature drama scripts have been supported by British Screen and Media II and placed in the finals of international screenwriting contests. Between 2001 and 2010, Holiday was resident in Cape Town where she directed several educational television series. She is currently developing a South African movie with B3Media and BBC Films.
