Company Description:
The District Management Council (DMC) is a membership network of public school districts and their leaders that provides superior strategic insights and practical solutions to the most pressing challenges facing school systems. DMC delivers in-depth techniques, tools, and training required to successfully raise student achievement while improving operations and lowering costs. Since its founding in 2004, DMC has successfully assisted school districts across the country in areas such as strategic planning, human capital management, financial resource allocation, and stakeholder engagement and communications. We draw upon the collective wisdom of our growing membership, the veteran perspectives of our Senior Advisors, and the analytical expertise of our management consultants who have decades of combined experience advising not only public school districts but complex multinational corporations and government agencies.

The District Management Journal, DMC’s flagship publication, provides a forum for discussion of key strategic, management, and leadership challenges that leaders in education confront on a day-to-day basis. Through case studies, thought pieces, and interviews with educational leaders, The District Management Journal seeks to highlight best practices and actionable solutions. Launched in 2009, The District Management Journal is now distributed to 5,000 public school superintendents and senior staff and education policy leaders across the country.

We are looking for someone who can become a long-term resource and will get to know our content, style, and preferences.

• Experience/familiarity with the education sector preferred
• Ability to provide clear and concise writing on a deadline
• Boston-area preferred for occasional in-person meetings
• Bachelor’s degree required, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience writing about business or management
