I started drawing when I was 8 years old and haven't stopped since. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from The University of Findlay and The Illinois Institute of Art - Schaumburg. Most recently I have been creating designs for travel mugs, cell phone cases, canvas paintings, and logo designs. I have also done work for tv backdrops, nursery murals, restaurant signage, and tattoo designs. I mostly work in marker, pencil, and acrylic paints. The only thing I stay away from is attempting to draw human emotion- hats off to those of you that can!

Writing has been a passion of mine. I was a Communication Arts Major in College where I wrote articles, edited manuscripts and even learned how to design websites and edit videos. Anything that has to do with writing was, more, my focus. Growing up, I would also write lyrics. I did not write any music though. Ever since then, I have fallen in love with writing. I am able to write anything from lyrics, to stories, to articles. Ever since College, I have been working for the Walt Disney Company in the parks in Orlando, Florida, where I currently reside. When I am not at work, I am writing in my free time and am currently working on a short story. I also love taking scenic pictures. I have many of sunsets and flowers. I love being creative and having to think.

Personal Statement- At this moment of my life I am trying to settle into my new home, and find a job that I can start saving with. My goal is to be successful in school; I am attending Seattle Central Community College. This will be to prepare me for grad school after I receive my Associates of Arts degree. My long term goal is to become an Art Therapist; I believe I can give back to my community and aid individuals while pursuing my hobbies and strengths with this path. Through Art Therapy my goal is to continue my life long work with children, I am hoping to bring my future counseling skills to Foster children, and any other child in need. My short term goals would be that of finding a full time job, maintaining a 4.0- 3.8 GPA and then moving once again into my own place. I have extensive experience working with diverse situations, including calling parents regarding their children, to working under pressure to ensure classrooms are set up in time. I work well under stress, and have always been able to remain calm in high stress situations. Most of the experience I have that would benefit any employer comes from working in childcare and volunteering in a middle school classroom. The qualities that I would be able to bring to the work place stem from the work experience I have had surrounding childcare, which varies from cooking and serving lunch to writing complete and organized lesson plans. I’m very good with children, which is the reason I have exclusively worked with them for so many years. Career Objectives- As I stated, I am currently looking for a full time position. I am willing to work hard, and be as flexible as I can. I firmly believe that any job I receive will sculpt me into a more successful woman as I move on with my goals and go out into the world after I gradate from grad school. As a child I chanted the names of continents, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica, with my sister and two brothers juggling suitcases, teddy bears, books, and a camera through airports and travel-stuffed station wagons. Another school year, ending early, would continue on another continent. My father’s US Army career catapulted our family across two continents. Separated by remote assignments to Korea and Vietnam, we traveled to Guyana South America, my mother’s home country. David Polluck and Ruth Van Reken’s co-authored Third Culture Kids: The Experience of Growing Up Among Worlds effectively describes my childhood and teenage years—in-between cultures and able to communicate with the different; moving in and out of my life experiences. National and international travel experiences groomed my communication skills (learning effective active listening), interpersonal skills, and fueled my desire to live overseas. The island of Guam was my home for 20 years honing my cross-cultural interpersonal skills among varying people groups, languages, and culinary experiences as I traveled and worked within the Pacific Rim countries (Taiwan, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, Australia, and Micronesia). As an adult I've served our country as a USAF officer, middle school teacher, union organizer, contributing writer for electronic & print media, corporate executive, government administrator, entrepreneur, coffee master, and theologian. I am a writer.
