My name is Bryan Homsher. I am an artist who enjoys the hands on aspects of the art world in the ever changing computerized society. I paint, draw, sculpt and just plain build things. I am creative and always up trying new materials and processes. That is what being an artist is all about, exploring new ideas and finding new potential within yourself. Having an idea is the start, but the ability to see and take the idea and formulate a process to see it come to life is the gift. Creativity and a diversified style of formulating a description of desired end result make me something of a jack of all trades. Something new is always around the corner waiting to be done, and I am glad to be a part of that culture. So if you have a crazy idea that you want to want to see come to life, I would like to help you get there!

I am a freshman at Binghamton University with a passion for storytelling. My experience in creative writing is limited to high school and college experiences. My most prized works in high school have been poetry, short stories, and plays. I was an editor for my high school's art and poetry magazine. In college, I have done extremely well in the only creative work I've had to do so far. I have been exploring different fields, out of the pressure to get a 'real job', but I would personally be so much happier to be able to pursue my dream in creative writing. My whole life is under construction, so feel free to check back anytime if you feel that you're looking for more experience and a portfolio that's organized online.

Work 2 – Research and Education Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada Education and Research Overview Why Education? Education used to be teaching the “3 R’s”, Reading, Writing and ‘Rithmatic (Math). No longer. Today it is Computers, Calculus, Particle Physics, Molecular Biology, Nano (Really, Really, Really, Really Small Stuff) Technology and all sorts of other complicated subjects. That is the world we increasingly live in and the one our future generations will certainly have to master to succeed in life. There was once a time when centuries would go by before a promising new scientific development or invention was recognized and brought into use. Now it can be only a matter or months, weeks, days or minutes. And our students have to be not only smart and well educated but nimble. Educating and preparing future generations for an ever changing world through primary, secondary, University or Trade education is a very important and increasingly daunting task. But it is a task that Saskatoon residents, primary and secondary school (public, private and parochial) administrators/teachers/staff and University administrators/faculty/staff have recognized and are responding to in order to educate the best prepared students possible. This is a constant theme that one finds running through all levels of education in Saskatoon - from Pre School to Post Graduate University Education. In other words a child can receive an excellent education in Saskatoon at a number of levels and in a number of ways. Why Research? A few thousand years ago most people believed that our Planet Earth was flat and was the center of the Universe, whatever the heck that was. As time passed, researchers, scientists and others showed that these were misconceptions and helped to shed light on a greater and more accurate truth. In other words, research has played an important role in life from the earliest of times and has become an integral part of the process of educating and training future generations. In Canada, not only has much of the responsibility for teaching at advanced levels been placed on the shoulders of its universities but also to serve as centers of research. And the concept makes sense. Research leads to the generation of new knowledge and what better a place to pass on this new knowledge than in an educational institution? The Combination of Education and Research. What happens when these two activities combine? Think of one as the generation of knowledge and the other as a way to disseminate that knowledge to the masses. The result? Uses for fire, the wheel all the way to modern medicine, nanotechnology and computers you can now wear on your wrist that 60 years ago were the size of a house and had only a fraction of the calculating power, huge over simplification that is. Here’s the point. Generation of KNOWLEDGE is GOOD. Research, some of which will generate KNOWLEDGE is GOOD. Teaching, a means to disseminate KNOWLEDGE is GOOD. Research that feeds into teaching is GOOD. Get It? GOOD.

I have worked with a number of graphic design and web design agencies both in my local area and London. I have also worked with small publishing companies on a number of interesting projects. Lockwoods Promotional Products Ltd was founded by a number of senior directors and staff from Bemrose Promotional Products when they ceased trading. They have moved into the bespoke and advertising calendar market retaining many of Bemrose Promotional Products former clients. They asked me to provide freelance proofreading services for their initial calendar season. I have since become one of only two proofreaders retained by them to read their 2012 stock range prior to printing. As well as being a preferred proofreader for Lockwoods Promotional Products, I also produce copy for their stock calendars. This involves working from picture references supplied, researching and writing copy relevant to the image or theme of the calendar. Depending on the client’s preference I will either read and mark up paper manuscripts using standard proofreaders marks, or work on files transmitted electronically. I can mark up supplied Word files using Track Changes or pdf. files using Adobe Acrobat. My website www.pauldalling.co.uk, designed by wheatcroft&co and written by Asbury&Asbury, was submitted to the 2011 D&AD Design Awards and was selected to feature in their prestigious yearbook which will be published later this year.
