My name is Vince, I am 36 years old. I am currently in the nursing field and have been one for almost 7 years. My field in the visual arts as a professional has not been the main foundation when pertaining to my career background. I was first a U.S. Marine, and have served honorably for 8 years. In those years, I have transferred a lot of images I have captured onto paper. From boot camp, Infantry school, to combat. I want to be blunt and honest here, so that I don't give any wrong perception from the other end. I didn't attend or graduate from an art school or institute. I don't know how else to expose myself in this field due to no experience, however I thought I would give it a shot if I was given an opportunity to show my creativity, talent, and most importantly, my passion. I am mission oriented, so deadlines are of no stress for me. I know how important it is to be part of a team to accomplish any mission, but I can also operate just as effective on my own. Going back to my adolescence, I have been awarded several art contests. I have received the Edward Jack Keats award for illustrators, competing with professionals, and college art students at the time. One of my works have been submitted to the Children's Art Museum in New York for a period of time. My sophomore year in high school, I have won several monetary awards from several national art contests, against professional and college level art students at the time. During summers a local comic book store would hire me to draw posters of comic book characters for advertisements. These are my only exposures and experience in the public eye of the art world. I would like to gain ground in this field. I am hopeful that all it takes is that one that would be willing to hire an under dog such as me. And hope to establish a rewarding, and trusting professional relationship with them.

I am a school teacher who uses my voice talent to give students a love of literature by incorporating multiple voices into my readings.I feel very blessed to have been given the talent that I possess. I am looking for other ways I can share my gifts by branching out into books on cd, animation, and announcing. I was extensively involved in Speech and Drama during my high school and college years, achieving tremendous success in both. I currently hold a Master's degree in Education. I am also an accomplished writer and editor.

Hello, my name is Blake Redbone. I studied fine art at Pratt Institute NY, University of the Arts, Pa and Centennial College for digital animation in Toronto. My focus is figurative, people and animals, with science, philosophy, and environmental studies being a strong source of inspiration. I usually do portraits on commission. Occasionally landscapes. I have done a lot of work in oils- but recently have been using mixed media of pen & ink and watercolor for illustration work. I can also color pen and ink work with various software and have done album artwork in this way. This year I am re doing my website, and it is currently down. However you can view a small sample of my work if you search for me on facebook it will come up as Aaronblakemoyer. You can view the album "my work" from there. I usually work per job rather than hourly. Individual works for different poems sounds like a particularly good match for me, as I excel in creating individual works of art with a single inspiration over series work. I can also recreate vastly different styles above and beyond that which comes out naturally as representational expressionism. If you think we would be a good match on this project I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Blake

My work currently centers around oil paintings in which I collage different images together in such a way that they appear to grow from one another, creating an effect of movement. I am extremely meticulous and the paintings I execute are highly detailed. I think of my paintings as spreading like a bruise across a canvas, with one image morphing out of another. I am inspired by the bright colors and clean lines of Pop Art, as well as the Surrealist Movement, but prefer not to classify my own style in terms of an association with others’ work. Thematically, I am exploring the pain I’ve had to undergo as a survivor of domestic abuse, and my own search for identity in the aftermath of eighteen years of allowing others to define who I was supposed to be. Since arriving in Ventura nine months ago, I have exhibited my work three times. During one of the first friday events I was given a wall at the Bell Arts Factory upon which to display eight of my pieces. This event allowed me to begin establishing contacts within the art world in Ventura, and since then I have developed a relationship with the curator of the Ventura County Museum of Art, Anna Bermudez. I had the incredible opportunity in November to participate as a featured artist in that establishment’s Day of the Dead exhibition. I had a piece hanging in a silent auction there as well as my own altar that combined painting, ink drawing, sculpture, and found object art to create what I view as a powerful statement on the multidimensional struggle of anorexia that effects so many teens today. This weekend, I also exhibited at the Ventura County Museum of Art, with a display of about two dozen paintings as a part of ArtWalk. I was approached at this show by an agent who represents Ventura artists, Linda Hallberg, who has offered to help me find further venues at which to exhibit my artwork. I look forward to participating in many more shows in the future and feel that I’ve already begun establishing a foundation for my career in Ventura. As an artist, I am mostly self taught, as I believe that practice truly is the key to developing any skill and my prolificness has kept me perpetually engaged in a process of learning and growing artistically. My art education includes highlights of my high school’s Advanced Placement Studio Art class, which I took twice. My second year I achieved a perfect score of a 5 on the AP Studio Art portfolio evaluation. Furthermore, I had the opportunity several times throughout this period of my studio to compete in art competitions and in that way gain experience. I have taken art classes for a semester at Pepperdine University, as well as for two semesters at Ventura College. In addition to being a student, I have also taught art at the Aloha Hive summer camp in Fairlee, Vermont. I taught classes in simple crafts and cartoon drawing, as well as acrylic and oil painting, and was rewarded to witness a flood of creativity and talent from the girls, age seven to thirteen, with whom I worked. Outside of the classroom, I have also worked on commission many times at this point in my life. I painted a mural in her home for Mrs. Carla London of Escondido, and completed works such as a tile walkway for St. Gabriel’s Church in San Diego that depicts in painted images the Stations of the Cross. My artistic interests are not limited to two dimensional work, and I regularly challenge myself by exploring unfamiliar media. A few months ago, I wrote, illustrated, and self published two books, a novella and my first novel. This was an incredible experience and I can definitely see myself interpreting my artistic expression through literature again in the future.
