This commission with oil paints was for a banquet hall owner. He has a wonderful venue on the waterfront, www.edgewatermanor.com, near St. Catherines Ontario. This piece was a gift for his father. This man in the portrait is the great grandfather, a Macedonian farmer. The original image framed at his parents house was a 5 x 8`` filmy black and white photo. I used this as a reference while I brought life back into the image. I added personal details which enhanced the family value of this work.
