I'm a student at Central New Mexico community college getting my degree in fine arts. My personal desire is to become a comic artist, but I have enjoyed doing all of the other art processes that I have learned through my school experience. My specialty is drawing, but I work a lot with digital media as well as worked with some painting and sculpting through school. I also draw birthday cards every month for the kids at a school I volunteered at in Japan, so I'm pretty good at drawing cute and expressive characters.

As a Pharmaceutical Copywriter, I collaborate with the Creative Director of Copy to develop content for a variety of digital pieces—including but not limited to: iPad apps, electronic visual aids, voice over scripts, and social media—focused on promotional and sales materials directed to patients and healthcare professionals. I also manage and develop content for our in-house agency blog focusing on industry trends and growth within the pharmaceutical marketplace. I contribute feature stories to community news of Mercer County, NJ, on a variety of topics, especially restaurant and dining stories. Previously, I worked as a marketing associate for a specialty ingredient brand for pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies, where I prepared press releases, product reports, and promotional articles on a regular basis. I graduated *** Laude from Rutgers University in 2011 with a BA in English Literature and a double major in Spanish Literature and Culture. I earned departmental honors on behalf of the English Department for my work on an undergraduate thesis examining the role of the female detective in Agatha Christie's novels.

I have been sketching and drawing for my entire life. For as long as I can remember, I have put my imagination onto anything that can get drawn on. I mostly do pencil/pen black & white drawings but I have worked with oil & acrylic paint on canvas, wood, paper. I've done some charcoal drawings, and clay work also.If it can invoke my imagination, then I won't hesitate to put what's pictured in my head out for the world to see. Art has always been a passion and fun outlet for me. My freelance experience, thus far, is mostly drawing up tattoo concepts for people to take to their artist. I've also done some logo work for local businesses and self employed individuals. Don't hesitate to contact me on here, or add me on Facebook. I love meeting new people, fellow artists, or just people who like my work. I have a link to an album with more work I have posted to social media. Thanks for looking at my profile!

Artist's Statement: I was born in Colorado and lived there until I felt it was time for me to go and explore my future. I began traveling at 16. I moved into a city or country until I established a profession, an existence, a story there. Once life became habitual, it would be time to seek a new part of my self, and I would abandon everything to begin anew. I participated in this nomad life, writing all the details of it, until I began my family, and in 1999, settled down in rural—beautiful!—West Virginia. Art for me continues to be a way to journey and learn about pieces of my hidden self. I have been involved in the arts my whole life. I have been a writer, a jewelry designer, a sculptor, a stained glass artist and a potter, yet I have not been able to maintain a long term rapport with any medium until I began my relationship with photography. Photography is very intuitive for me. Ever since I picked up a camera I have treated it as a means of articulation, and I have been confident that it is what I would do with my life. As an artist I enjoy the foreplay of creating. When initiating art in the past I’ve only been capable of addressing one or two ideas at a time, but through photography I am able to indulge hundreds of intentions in a short period. I love the immediacy of this medium. I also love that photography is a business of light; it is literally composing using luminescence as ones tool. There is no secret that “light” is the term used by many spiritual paths to define what is pure and divine. It is an honor spending my moments chasing such divinity. In this regard photography has become not just an expression, but a form of worship. It is seeing what is miraculous and sacred in life, and then sharing these evoked sensations with others through visual poetry. Substantiating with imagery is a way to communicate and point out this awesome world for others to notice and realize. As a photographer I can be an artist that isn’t just the inventor but the receiver of creation, and who interacts with this art daily. This is why I view photography simultaneously as prayer and revelry. Transcendence through imagery abounds in each moment. It’s just a matter of acknowledging this and opening ones heart to the receiving of it. I've been an artist for most of my life. This took some time to uncover, but my work at http://www.myspace.com/jontwiss can show the variety I am capable of. After graduation from High School, I worked for my father using Microstation CAD for "cell" library creation. After this, I went to Pittsburgh Technical Institute for my Associates in Specialized Technology: Multimedia, with an emphasis in 3d animation. I graduated in 2003 with a GPA of 3.0. I've been working odd jobs since then and have not stopped with my creative side. Again, you can see the various types of genre in the http://www.myspace.com/jontwiss website.
