During my first project with INPO my project manager presented me with the challenge of developing a 30 minute interactive training program in the style of a cd-rom point and click adventure. Working from a script developed to highlight interactivity and narration I created all of the visual assets from original designs to customized off the shelf resources. The software pipeline included Flash, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Autodesk Maya with final deployment as a flash web application. The final launch of the respiratory protection training program was a success, increasing completion rates over 8 points. INPO was impressed enough with my delivery and skill set to offer me a chance to tackle a larger project with a more hands on role in the development of interactive activities and visual design of a program addressing cyber security awareness. Specifically cyber security for nuclear power sites in the United States and abroad. The duration of the cyber project spanned over nine months. I was instrumental in the design phase creating the look and feel of the new course from the ground up. The goal was to create a professional looking interface that was modular and easy to approach from an end user perspective. The greatest challenge was developing a production pipeline that could accommodate audio script changes on the fly and replacement of assets as needed. The most rewarding aspect was acquiring new skills in 3D modeling and design. The launch of the cyber package was a success and my role as a design lead helped create a production package that can be utilized to create new content as needed in the dynamic area of cyber security. Verizon Wireless/ July-August, 2008 Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc Character Design/ Sequence Illustration The work with Verizon pertained to working with a director to match the style and direction of rough boards that demonstrated composition and timing for the animated sequences. Intel-Lenovo/ April-July, 2008 Light-box Studios, Llc / Dualbo, Inc Character Design/ Animation Background Design I designed original characters and backgrounds for three separate spots. Each spot centered on an Olympic sporting event. Pitting the Intel team against an opposing team representing Intel competitors. Awesome Inc./ December, 2006-January, 2007 Cartoon Network Foster’s Home for imaginary Friends Interstitials Animation Direction/ Storyboarding/ Character Animation A series of seven commercial Interstitials needed to complete within a deadline of four weeks from storyboarding to final animation. I was in charge of implementing a roadmap and division of labor to complete each thirty second spot. After working with the production supervisor I suggested that rough animation layout completed in flash would be the best way to plan out the action for each spot based on the supplied scripts for the client. The overall work was broken up between three story artists that were to take the script and flesh out the sequence of action. I completed storyboards for three of the seven spots. Once the storyboards were reviewed they were synced with the supplied dialogue audio tracks and timed for final animation. The final animation was completed within the last two and a half weeks of the production schedule. Radical Axis/ July, 2006-Septemeber,2006 Harvey Birdman Cooper Mini Commercial Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition Comedy Central’s: Freakshow Character Animation/ Resource Acquisition My duties on the production of Freakshow were to complete final pieces of character animation as dictated by the Supervising Director and Animation director of the series. I would retrieve initial flash files from the data server. These files would include roughly drawn storyboard panels and audio dialogue tracks. As a staff character animator I would use these rough templates to layout the final line drawings in Key frames using macromedia flash and a WACOM digital interface. These layout keys would then be submitted to the animation supervisor for quality control and initial approval. After receiving directing notes I would continue to complete the final animation. Final animation was completed on average 15 seconds per week, and reviewed by the animation supervisor and director. My work on the Mini Cooper commercial comprised of me receiving finished storyboards from the director of the commercial along with the audio track. The timed storyboards functioned as a guide for all of the final line art and animation that I completed for the final cut of the commercial. Hey I am 19 years old studying Games Art at Bolton University and enjoy drawing and painting in my spare time. I studied Visual Arts in Sixth Form for part of my IB course and managed to obtain a very high result for my pieces. At the moment I have no job, so am looking to fill up free time until this changes. I am comfortable using acrylic paints and graphite pencils. I also own a tablet and I am learning how to use it and produce high-quality pieces of work. I am up for any challenge with a 'can-do' attitude as I feel it will help me progress as an artist. I apologize for poor picture quality. If you would like to get in touch either leave a message on here or contact me through my email idperry123@gmail.com. Thank you :)
