BERNADETTE QUANDER I just won the 2014 Pacific Book Review Writer's Awards for Fantasy. Once upon a time there lived a little girl and her mother. The mother would read the little girl a bedtime story every night. Soon the little girl grew tired of the stories her mother read to her and asked her mother to write her a special story. It had to be the kind of story that was exciting and different the little girl told her mother. The main character had to be very likable, someone that she could read about over and over again. So, the next day the mother went to work and pondered over her little girl's request. With her daughter in mind, the mother wrote an endearing story about a young boy who made a big promise to his older brother, the secrets the young boy tried to keep and the tragedies no one expected. Sabre de Pleiades© (pronounced as Saber dah Play a dees) a dark tale; a science fiction/fantasy mystery was recently published. The illustrator, Yangtian Li had some of her work on our website, Freelanced.com. I was looking at all of the beginning, great and accomplished artists and their art work and there was one painting that drew me into her world of fantasy. I immediately knew this artist would be the person to help bring a wonderful visual perspective to Sabre de Pleiades. I share this with you because I send you encouragement, the world still needs great artists and you become great by practicing, practicing and practicing. So please remember: “When imagination removes the boundaries from your dreams. . .when determination moves and weaves through every fiber of your goals. . .when ideas take shape to form a pattern for your future. . .success can be by design. Ideas create new pieces to lay into your pattern for growth, progress and success. . .it's as simple as communication through the written word is the key!” Anonymous As an Award Winning Author, I make considerable effort to bring my readers into the world of the characters I have been allowed to create. I am working on "The Toddist"©, Book Two of Sabre de Pleiades from the Ledger of Lemuel.

Since my early days, I have had a passion for writing as a means to touch peoples' lives and share our common bonds, to show the beauty and intricacy of life, and perhaps to have others see something from a different perspective. Although most of my adult life has been spent in the field of information technology, I have always had a strong desire to pursue writing as a full-time career. Even as a small business owner, I incorporated my passion for writing insofar as creating professional imagery to represent company ideals, capabilities and goals to include in their online presence. For several years, I have also been pursuing the goal of writing a novel that I will (someday) perfect to my own satisfaction and present for publication. Descriptive prose, creative writing, technical writing, copywriting, editing and expository writing are my fortes.
