I received a BFA from BYU-Idaho, specializing in oil painting. I have had the privilege of teaching at a local college, and am currently teaching oil painting classes at the Petersen Art Center in Salt Lake City. I specialize in portraiture. I find no subject as challenging, or as rewarding as the subtle and unique form of human portraiture brought to life. All human beings are created in the image of God. Thus to view and perceive the human soul is to glimpse into eternity and begin to understand the divine. It is my hope that the viewer will see something more than just an approach to realism through oil, brushwork, value, color, and design in this series of paintings. Perhaps he or she will also gain a greater appreciation for the beauty that shines through each child of God as evidence of the Master Artist’s greatest masterpieces.
