TECHNICAL & SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH/ANALYSIS/ WRITING -STANDARDS WORK July 2005 – July 2007: I worked with a team of international government scientists, researchers and engineers on a volunteer Standards project for Earth Observations. I was a founding member of the group on interoperability and Chair of the Committee on Earth Observations Portals. Searching and gathering up a list of 175 portals (websites). I analyzed portals, I selected good models, I presented my chairperson’s reports to the group leader. In addition, I served as minute-taker for scientific meetings. The project was begun in July 2005. It is a humanitarian based effort (references available). Volunteer time contributed: 300 hours. Report on Earth Observations Portals was authored by my colleagues and, me, based on my research of 300 hours. IEEE INFORMATION REUSE & INTEGRATION CONFERENCE TECHNICAL/SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH 2007-2013 – I Served on the Technical Program Committee as Reviewer of Technical Papers (2007-13). I provided commentary on quality of research papers; areas for improvement for the International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration, held in Las Vegas, Nevada USA. I also served on the Industry Development Panel during IRI 07. I also served as Canadian Liaison, Industry Liaison, Ethics Chair, and Member of the Organizing Committee. I helped launch transactions journal for conference. I contributed to the IRI 10 Panel Discussion on Information Reuse and Integration in the Public Sector, as an audience member. I was a Member of the IRI 11 Panel on Commercialization of Research in Information Reuse Integration. I presented a short talk on Education Concepts in Information Reuse and Integration with a distinguished scientist, at IRI 12. I co-authored Panel Technical Papers at IRI 07 and IRI 10. Finally, I ran the registration desk two years in a row and assured all registrants were handled. VOLUNTEER WORK IN TEACHING 2010: I volunteered 200 hours in tutoring an adult in the French Language for the Government Language Program, levels 1-2-3. I am an industrial designer graduated from Instituto Presbiteriano Mackenzie, São Paulo, Brazil, with a major in Visual Programming. A freelance illustration job for Blue Life Health Insurance Company launched my career as a professional designer. Now I live in Japan. My first work here was to draw the advertising poster for the Jimokuji World Music Festival, a fundraising event held by the City Hall of Jimokuji, Aichi Ken. I also created the design for the event promotional t-shirts. Currently I work as a medical illustrator for a company in Portugal.
