He holds a B.A. in vocal performance from Gustavus Adolphus College where he studied with Shannon Stuckey and Michael Jorgenson, and sang in the Gustavus Choir under the baton of Gregory Aune. His compositions have been performed by choirs and chamber groups across the US as well as Germany and Scotland. Recent premieres include The Boy in Black, at the University of Iowa full length musical written in collaboration with playwright Tony Meneses, and Cry of Urgent Thunder, a wind ensemble piece written for the Episcopal Youth Music Camp in Willow River, Minnesota. Daniel is currently living in Alturas, California where he teaches voice and piano lessons privately.
