I've worked as an illustrator, portrait artist, puppet maker, costumer, digital designer, custom toy maker and muralist. The greatest strength of my skillset may be the versatility and a willingness to try my hand at anything. I'm ready to do what is...

I am a freshman in college, and I have been drawing for a really long time. Its my passion, and my dream to become a great artist and be recognized. If you are looking for someone to illustrate, I'm your girl! I mainly draw anime and manga style, and I can give you some examples of my art. I don't have anything very new up, but I plan to get some soon. Enjoy!...

Amanda’s responsibilities were to write a wide variety of stories for the magazine, to meet all her production deadlines, to work nine hours per week on magazine assignments, to do all her own research and interviews, and to behave with a professional demeanor as a representative of our award-winning publication at all times. Organization, clarity of thought, and an open-minded, upbeat attitude are the qualities that result in a successful internship, and Amanda exhibited them all in abundance. Her stories were well constructed, engaging, and easy to read, she met or exceeded all her deadlines, she was always prompt and professional, she collaborated well with her editor (me), and she became an accomplished interviewer. She was motivated, independent, and often took the initiative to achieve more than was assigned. Above and beyond all this, she was a pleasure to work with. Her university and work-history credentials aside, I would not hesitate to hire her again (in fact, as executive director of BAC, I did hire her to write additional stories for our website), and I whole-heartedly recommend that you admit her into your esteemed MFA program. She will not disappoint you. Indeed, knowing Amanda as I do, I’m certain she will exceed your expectations with her professional approach to the task at hand. Best regards, Richard Leder

I recently earned an MA in English from King’s College London. I love all things having to do with the written word, from reading and writing to editing and publishing. I am a born editor. Ever since I was very young I could not help but notice the grammatical and syntactical errors in the various things I read. They jump out at me like incongruent pieces of a puzzle. I have a passion for editing and proofreading. This comes from my tendency towards perfectionism. I love to take a good piece of fiction or academic writing and reshape and polish it until it gleams. Recent freelance editing stints have included academic papers at the Master’s level as well as a fantasy novel and short stories. I have been writing stories and poems ever since I first learned how. I have read all over the board so I’m very familiar with the styles and motifs of many of the fictional genres, as well as literary fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. I have tried my hand at writing in just about every genre and major writing form. My travels have taken me all over the globe, on unbelievable adventures. Starting in sunny California, where I grew I up, I then went on to live for a year-and-a-half in Thailand as a missionary/English teacher, and am fluent in spoken Thai as well as reading and writing Thai script. My next adventure took place in London, where I lived for a year while I earned my MA in English at King’s College London. My latest adventure was to China, where I lived for four months as a volunteer English teacher. I plan to go live in Shanghai for a year starting in the fall. I am picking up Chinese—spoken and written—amazingly fast. I attribute this to my knowledge of the Thai language, which is tonal like Mandarin Chinese. Besides editing, writing, academic scholarship, and language acquisition, my talents spread out into other fields and include playing the harp, organ, and harpsichord. While in China I began taking guitar lessons—that was an interesting experience, as my teacher didn’t speak a lick of English. I can draw and oil paint, and write a resume to suit any position. I have held the oddest jobs: I worked at a bakery for two years, as a substitute teaching for grades k-12th for another couple, and for several months as a service technician at a tire & lube express. Through my exposure to so many cultures, customs, and experiences, I am game for anything and everything.

Summary of Master’s Study as submitted to Master’s Abstracts: TITLE OF THESIS: Negotiation as Education Management Skill WRITTEN BY: C J M Clarke FOR THE DEGREE: Master of Education IN THE SUBJECT: Educational Management SUPERVISOR: Professor C van Wyk SUMMARY: The summary investigates the extent to which effective educational managers need to employ negotiation as a vital education management skill. It examines the present nature of schools as educational organisations primarily through the political model of educational management. Furthermore, the essence, styles and methods of the negotiation process are researched and described. The investigation proves conclusively that negotiation is one of the most successful methods of reaching a mutually acceptable outcome in various conflict situations within an educational organisation. It also becomes evident that negotiation is bound to become increasingly important to the effective management of educational organisations in the future, and that it is imperative that educational managers need to be trained and experienced negotiators. The study concludes with recommendations regarding the training of educational managers as negotiators and offers suggestions concerning the need for further research in this field. 3.
