I am the illustrator of Stephen King’s Rose Madder and The Green Mile. I did an additional 68 pencil illustrations for a Tenth Anniversary edition of The Green Mile published by Subterranean Press. Publisher’s Weekly says, “Mark Geyer’s illustrations lend old-fashioned atmosphere.” I got my college degree in Studio Art from Florida State University in 1979. I spent many years as an architectural renderer while trying to break into the publishing market. In addition to my work in adult horror novels, I am now venturing into children’s literature. I’ve just finished illustrating The Inquisitor’s Apprentice by Chris Moriarty. It hits bookstores in October of 2011. Next October the sequel comes out and I’m illustrating that, too. My clients include Advertising Age, Chicago Tribune, Hallmark Cards, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Penguin Putnam, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, and Warner Brothers Home Video. I've written or co-written 6 feature length screenplays ranging from action and science fiction to romantic comedy and drama. I have done several rewrites for others so I am comfortable working with an existing idea or vision. I feel my greatest strength is in fact taking an existing story and adding structure, character development, and strong dialogue. I am able to work extremely efficiently; the last rewrite I did took just two weeks to complete. Some of my biggest influences Quentin Tarantino, The Coen Brothers, David Fincher, and George Lucas.
