Julio Cordero, born in the South of Spain, is a self-taught artist now living in Kent, UK. He had a late start, at the age of 33, but since them, he has developed his art in the most varied ways. For years he worked with a group of European artists in different cities of Europe and South America, which helped him very much in his process of learning to develop his own unique style. He went to Dublin in 1993, and in his first year he painted more than 300 portraits, using pastels as well as oil. Since then, he has been working always through commissions, often requests for copies of paintings of great Masters, among them, Raphael, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michael Angelo, Velazquez, Vermeer, Walter Osborne, as well as producing his own works some of which now adorn homes in Ireland, England, Spain and Los Angeles amongst others. He has also done many murals, which decorate the walls of several restaurants and hotels in Dublin, Athens, London and Barcelona. The year 2005, saw for the first time his work exhibited in two galleries, one in Dublin, (Spiller art Gallery), and OSB Gallery, in Enniskerry, Co. Wiclow. He has exhibited his work in the Sandford Gallery, in Dublin, the Tuam Gallery in Galway, Raglan Gallery in Barcelona, Pilar Gallery in Zaragoza, Fundaziones De Nittis in Trani, Italy and Redleaf Gallery in Kent, England.
