I am a biologist and a freelance artist, working under the studio name, Catbird Seat Studio. I provide illustration, portraits, murals and fine art. I grew up on a horse farm in Ohio in a household that valued art. My father is an architect, so I began drawing with him as soon as I could hold a drawing tool in my hand. I have been involved in art classes, organizations, and competitions since grade school. I am skilled in watercolor, oil, pencil, and acrylic. My biological illustrations can be seen on a series of "birdmarks" offered by the Smithsonian.
