I'm an Artist. I'm a teacher. I'm an apparel industry professional. Artistically speaking: Internationally working artist, Jennifer Golubiewski is a new face to the Mineral Point, Wisconsin art scene. Bringing her diverse life experience to the easel, Jennifer’s work has been inspired by both local landscapes and scenes from her global travels. - Primarily working in pastels, her bold and energetic use of color and stroke explores the raw energy of nature. Using a heavy-toothed paper, evocative impressions emerge from multiple layers of tone and color. Critically acclaimed, her work has been described as having “stunning use of color…intriguing and peaceful…bold abstractions of nature...amazing depth of color...” Explaining her own work, she says, “I’m drawn to manipulating the landscape around me. I draw what I like to look at…colors and shapes that are interesting, yet peaceful, soothing.” Jennifer’s training in art came through a parallel career path in clothing design. She worked corporately for 20 years in Denver, San Francisco, New Zealand and Wisconsin. From 1996-2002 she lived and worked in New Zealand, traveling regularly to Melbourne, Sydney and Hong Kong. 2002 proved to be a profound turning point and Jennifer made the decision to pursue her first love: art. She quickly became an artist in residence at Sumner, Christchurch. Sumner’s powerful oceanscapes and Nor’westerlies featured in much of her work. Inspired by the force of the sun and her daily beach walks, Jennifer’s art flourished. Now calling Mineral Point, Wisconsin home, Jennifer’s once thunderous oceanscapes have been replaced by the equally unbridled presence of nature reflected in the glorious skies over rolling fields, the changing colors and seasons of the mid-West. Most summer evenings you can find her sitting on her farmhouse porch with her two dogs watching another magnificent sunset. In addition to creating art in my studio I have had the pleasure of teaching at VSA Madison for several years. I taught multi media classes to adults with emotional and physical challenges. What a humbling joyous experience. On the clothing side: A Product Development & Sourcing Manager with experience in all aspects of apparel manufacturing, costing, raw material sourcing, factory sourcing and line building for small to mid-size brands. Positive track record building relationships in a wide range of cultural situations living in New Zealand for several years as well as frequent onsite factory work in Asia and Eastern Europe. Successful in reverse-engineering product to improve profit margins and effective in building brands through thoughtful product development as a result of market and consumer research. Please go to Linkedin for the full run down of my experience.

Design Intense was founded by Eliza Alys Young [read her blog], who has a dual BFA from Maine College of Art in Graphic Design and Photography. In the early 90's she studied computer programming and taught herself HTML when there were no classes to take, no templates to buy, or software such as Dreamweaver. Since then, Eliza has designed several hundred websites, as well as taught web design, from basic to advanced, HTML to multimedia, on a university level. In addition, she was involved the development of the first web design curriculum for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida. In 2003, she was invited by NY Parsons School of Design, to teach two classes in web design and interface design at Parson’s sister school Altos de Chavón in La Romana, Dominican Republic. The response was so positive to the classes, which consisted of professionals as well as students, that she decided to relocate her web design business, Wolf Imaging, to the island’s capital city, Santo Domingo. At that time, the web market had just dramatically bottomed out in the United States but it was burgeoning in Latin America. Wolf Imaging was based in Jacksonville, Florida from 1998-2002 and at its height, operated with a large team, on international projects up to half a million dollars. When Eliza relocated the business to the Dominican Republic, she broadened the scope to include traditional advertising/graphic design, and re-branded the company as CreativEliza, a name much easier for her Spanish-speaking clientele. For six years CreativEliza provided creative services to a range of clients, many from Europe who were launching businesses in Latin America such as Sun Village, Reef Club Cozumel and Sanctuary Cap Cana. In 2009. the company went through a final re-branding and changed the company name to Design Intense to reflect the full scope of the business and to shift emphasis from the founder’s name.
